The Look Models & Actors Agency loves it when major TV projects are filmed in the regional market area! This past summer, a New York casting agency approached this agency in search of a modeling agency near Bethlehem, PA to help staff a reality TV show being filmed locally. We were quick to respond due to our extensive eleven year casting experience with the Forensic Files/Medical Detectives TV show currently airing on four major networks.

The Look Agency was asked to provide a total of 800 extras and featured extras over a period of six weeks for 13 episodes of a reality TV show called Knight Fight which is currently airing on the History Channel! Some of the requirements turned out to be especially challenging for both the modeling and acting agency and for the actors, such as: Each episode was being filmed over a few days timeline, which meant that the same actors had to be on set, wearing the same clothes, same hairstyle, same place on set for all of the days that particular episode was shooting for production continuity! Shoots were sometimes twelve hour days which is pretty normal for background talent, but can be exhausting. The talent had to maintain a very enthusiastic attitude since they were background audience participants – sometimes not easy to do for twelve hours a day. Normal pay for background extras is about $120 a day. It is suggested by most modeling and acting agencies that new talent seek out background and extra work to help build resume credits. “Kudos” to talent that follow the basic rules of becoming an actor by taking advantage of extra work, especially when it is being booked through casting agencies or talent agencies near you.
